Make no mistake – I love a good whisk(e)y. The right drink at the right time in the right mood can do so much. It helps relax, socialize, think and so much more. I have lost count of the number of times that I have found inspiration whilst enjoying a drink.
There is, however, more to drink than this. A good drink is not just a facilitator for other things – it is a thing in itself. I get great pleasure from the actual drink. The exploration of flavor, smell, mouthfeel and the look of it – not to mention the design and culture that surround it.
Some of the images I include here show some of this but it is not always that way. There is also a danger to drink. Drink that is taken at the wrong time and for the wrong reason. Drink that is meant to escape reality or run away from stress or depression. Drink that is an excuse to avoid responsibility or is taken in anger. This illustrated poem is about that.
I have written a number of books including fiction, art and about Moscow's seven sisters. Click here for more information
